80′s Picture House

I have a good friend who co-hosts a weekly podcast about film, music and ‘oddities’ from the 1980′s; it’s called the 80′s Picture House. Like many other podcasts on the Internet, it was hosted on the website Podbean. Personally, I felt the web presence on Podbean was a bit weak and it could be a lot better presented, but the website didn’t offer the kind of capabilities that were needed to produce a professional looking website.

My friend’s 30th Birthday was on the horizon, so, luckily for him, I decided to construct a new website as a gift.

I wanted to construct him a website to encourage social engagement between the show and their listeners. Therefore, I decided to design a website based on the social site Pinterest by using WordPress and a Themify theme (Pinboard). I also installed and configured a plugin (Social Login) whereby listeners can comment on stories using their Facebook, Twitter or other social media accounts.

To give the podcast that added extra piece of professionalism, I designed their new branding and modified their Facebook and Twitter profiles accordingly.
